The center opened in 2006 as the Princeton Center for Theoretical Physics with significant funding from a Princeton alumnus. In 2008, it was renamed the Princeton Center for Theoretical Science to reflect the center’s reach beyond physics. The center moved into its current space, a renovated wing on the fourth floor of Jadwin Hall, in 2008.
